Scottish teams have swept the board at the 2010 British Synchro Championships and National Opens at iceSheffield (18-19th Feb) taking gold medals in 3 categories on the opening day of the event, followed by a well deserved silver medal in the Elementary section on the final day. Every single Scottish Team has therefore won a medal at this year's event.

In the Preliminary section, Aberdeen's Team Pizazz, despite a 2 point deduction still took a commanding lead over Wight Gems and Rocking Robins. In the Intermediate 1 section, Inverness Moray Dolphins convincingly beat off teams from Altrincham, Lee Valley, Basingstoke and Sheffield to win Gold for the Highlanders, while Aberdeen Team Zariba scooped a third Scottish Gold in the Intermediate 2 competition, relegating Gosport Allstars to the Silver medal. In the Elementary competition, with 10 teams competing, Ayr Gael Force took silver just 1.14 points behind winners Silver Blades from Altrincham – and had it not been for a 1 point deduction for a fall, the Scottish team could have been even closer! What a fantastic result for Scottish Synchro Teams.

To round off a brilliant event, Inverness Moray Dolphins were not only awarded Synchro Team of the Year, but also the coveted Helen Volgushev trophy for most entertaining performance of the Championships. Well done to Moray Dolphins and their coach Amanda Clinton.
