Great results for British team in the recent World Championships

Sk8scotland extends their congratulations to all the British team in the recent World Championships in Italy, in particular Sinead and John Kerr on their magnificent 5th place in the Senior Ice Dance Championship while at the Senior World Short Track Championships our own Elise Christie achieved a fantastic 8th place following her great 3rd place at the Senior European Championships.

These athletes are true role models and an inspiration to all aspiring performers.

Things have changed for the Kerrs …

SCOTTISH ice dance stars Sinead and John Kerr used to walk around unnoticed – but that has changed. Fame has brought recognition and John received a jolt this week when three young men shouted at him in a West Lothian supermarket car park. The Olympic hopeful shrugged it off just as he has countless knocks during the Kerr’s climb to the top of the British rankings.

However, the next month could prove pivotal in the pair’s bid to become world stars and Olympic medallists.

Sinead & John to compete in 2010/2011

The Sk8scotland Board welcome the news that Sinead & John Kerr have decided to continue competing for the 2010/11 season and particularly look forward to their performances in the British, European and World Championships.

Further congratulations are due to John on being appointed a member of the British Olympic Committee Athletic Commission. John was one of only 14 successful athletes selected from over 30 nominations put forward.
