Cancellation of Sk8scotland Adult Open 2011

It is with great regret and extreme disappointment that, due to circumstances out with our control, I have to announce the cancellation of the Sk8scotland Adult Open Figure Skating Competition, 2011. Despite immense efforts for some months we have been unable to secure the requisite officials for this event. We fully intend to hold this as a full club international event in 2012 and, if necessary, our officials will be invited from abroad to ensure we meet the NISA required criteria.

Sk8scotland are currently introducing a new competition structure forScotland in the form of separate championships for each discipline, and the first figure event, The Scottish Cup took place in Aberdeen,  5-7 August 2011.

Great results for British team in the recent World Championships

Sk8scotland extends their congratulations to all the British team in the recent World Championships in Italy, in particular Sinead and John Kerr on their magnificent 5th place in the Senior Ice Dance Championship while at the Senior World Short Track Championships our own Elise Christie achieved a fantastic 8th place following her great 3rd place at the Senior European Championships.

These athletes are true role models and an inspiration to all aspiring performers.
