BBC Sports Presenter Mike Bushell has recently been to Dumfries to film an action piece on synchronized skating with the Dumfries Synchro teams and it is scheduled to be aired on BBC Breakfast on Christmas Eve morning (Sat 24th December) between 6:00 – 10:00 and repeated several times. Anne-Marie Coxon, Chair of the Dumfries club said:
“The BBC filming went very well. They had done their research on synchro so pretty much everything I dropped in they seemed to know about. The girls had fun and Mike himself was very game – participating in a wheel and an intersection! It is scheduled to go out on BBC Breakfast News on Christmas Eve between 6am and 10am – will be shown several times throughout the morning. Solway Stars and Solway Eclipse were the teams involved – Solway Breeze did a run through of their British silver medal winning performance as well.”
Scottish teams have swept the board at the 2010 British Synchro Championships and National Opens at iceSheffield (18-19th Feb) taking gold medals in 3 categories on the opening day of the event, followed by a well deserved silver medal in the Elementary section on the final day. Every single Scottish Team has therefore won a medal at this year’s event.
NISA have agreed the inclusion of ISU level Synchro within the WISA Championships/IJS Event week commencing 18th October 2010.

NISA will shortly publish a list of officials for Open competitions for both RJS and IJS events. This will be made available to Clubs and Test Organisers and updates can be obtained on request from the NISA office when updated on a monthly basis.
A further document will be published, advising of the minimum specification required for the formation of panels for both RJS and IJS events. Read more
Further to previous announcements, NISA are happy to be able to announce the next stage in the roll out of IJS to Open Competitions. We have now taken the IJS from National Championship level and NISA IJS events, to Club/Rink Open events. It is hoped that in the future this can be expanded further to internal club and inter-rink competitions.
